I always had a bit of a mixed feeling about this album. The material used for this album all originated from the time between Strictly For My N.I.G.G.A.Z. R U Still Down (Remember Me) is the first record releases after 2Pac died that had no input from the artist himself in the production process. Top 4 from Tupac’s entire discography, dead or alive. All things considered, this is a really dope posthumous project. The hip-hop version of “I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto” is another highlight. Lovely “Do For Love” for example is directly followed by should have been left in the vault material “Enemies With Me”.

It’s just further between the dope tracks. This does not mean that the final stretch of this 3LP is all bad. And the Poetic Justice rerun “Definition of a Thug N**ga”.ĭ-side and onwards is when you start to notice an unfortunate decline in quality, some of these joints doesn’t quite feel like fully fleshed out songs, they have a demo-ish vibe to them. My top picks here is the not so subtle “F**k All Y’all”. Side B is more mellow but equally dope, zero skips. “Thug Style” over a reggae riddim is another highlight on a very strong A-side. Much better than the rushed but still praised “The Don Killuminati (The 7 Day Theory)”.Īfeni Shakur picked out some heat for this one! “Open Fire” is crazy and why it was scrapped while ‘Pac was still around I’ll never understand.
